The Holy Grail Hitting Strip V2 is the redesigned version of our original flagship hitting surface. We kept everything that made the Holy Grail a favorite among serious indoor golfers — realistic ball flights, natural compression feedback, and genuine joint protection — and refined the internal construction based on real-world use and customer feedback.
The V2 features an upgraded edge-to-edge foam design with 5 foam support strips running the full width of the hitting area, replacing the original three 1" strips. This means no more soft spots near the edges — just a stable, consistent feel across the entire surface no matter where you set up.
Despite the added stability, the V2 maintains the soft, joint-friendly feel the Holy Grail is known for. The thin Money Putt turf surface still won't grab or decelerate the club — and it's that club deceleration from grabby mats that causes elbow and wrist injury over time.
Like the original, the V2 gives you honest feedback on fat shots. You'll feel and hear the difference when you catch it fat — the club descends below the ball, impact rides high on the face, and ball flight drops by at least 20%. It punishes the mistake without punishing your body.
Installation

The V2 drops into putting turf raised with a 1" sublayer (Foamular or EVA foam tiles). The front and back supports include 2" adhesive-backed velcro to hold the strip securely in position. The strip measures exactly 12x30" — we recommend cutting the hole to 12.25x30" for a snug fit front and back, with a 1/8" gap on each long side to allow clean downward deflection on strike. Height is 1-3/8" (slight variation possible due to manufacturing tolerances).
Standalone Use
The V2 can also be used outside of a stance mat directly on the floor, provided the surface will securely hold the adhesive-backed velcro. Bare or painted concrete works fine.
Premium Turf Surface
The top layer uses our Money Putt turf — a seamless match if you use the same turf throughout your simulator or studio space. Money Putt is an exceptionally durable 100% nylon turf that stimps at approximately 11 and won't leave green marks on your clubs.
